Faith is still on CPAP last I spoke to the nurses (around 2:30 today), but they have had to turn her oxygen back up to 35% today. She was on 27% yesterday but then the arm that they have run her central line into got swollen so they had to turn her onto her back to try to get the swelling down. Apparently it is harder for babies that are new to CPAP to breathe on their backs, so her lungs got a bit of a workout last night... She was up to 32% this morning, but they had to keep upping her to 35 during the day. Also, it could be an effect of her still-increasing feeds filling up her tummy more than she's used to.
Hopefully she will be up to her full amount of food tonight though, so maybe she'll get used to the tummy fullness and she'll settle back down. I certainly hope so I'm so worried she'll end up going back onto the vent, eek!
Also, they did give her a new hat for her CPAP snorkle to try and reduce the swelling in her head a bit :) It does seem a bit better.

Wow she is looking sooo much better now. Shes finally getting her skin colour back. Yay Faith!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it wont be too much longer before she moves onto the next stage :)
Hey,
ReplyDeleteChin up. The prayers are rolling in for you and Faith. Like Jenna said, hopefully not too long before the next stage ;)
